Austwick Primary School lies in the village of Austwick in the Yorkshire Dales. The school catered for 40 pupils in the existing Infants and Juniors Departments.
The school decided to expand and open a nursery in order to cope with the increasing demand for this service in the local area.
hpa designed and oversaw the construction of new nursery wing.
The extension was designed to blend in with the existing school buildings, whilst adding a contemporary touch. The new wing contains a nursery room, kitchen and a covered external play area. The work was completed in July 2006 for a cost of around £110,000.00.
