This project demonstrated how an historic building can be given a new lease of life with a great deal of care and attention.

hpa were first approached to look at Hornby Village Hall back in 1998. Over the years the practice worked closely with the local community to develop a scheme to restore
and rejuvenate this Listed Building. Eventually enough money was raised for the work to go ahead through fundraising and a number of successful grant applications.

Reopened in March 2006, the building has been restored to it’s former glory whilst complying to tough modern legislation. The scheme won the prestigious Community Benefit category of the RICS North-West 2007 Awards. more >>
