The Caravan Club, Pools Brook
Country Park, nr. Chesterfield
This project is situated on a former colliery which has recently been remodeled as a Country Park. It will be the Caravan Clubís centenary site, and we have been asked to introduce sustainable thinking into the project.
The Toilet Block and Reception Building have been ideally sited for Solar Panels which will preheat the hot water supply. Rainwater is collected for reuse in the toilets and showers. Underfloor heating is used throughout, and a fair amount of timber from sustainable sources is used in the construction of the buildings. Toplighting also allows natural light to enter the heart of the building.
The site opened in March 2008.
