Harrison Pitt Architects launch new Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment Service
July 2009

Since May 2008 all new homes are required to have a Code level rating registered with Building Control. This is sometimes required before Planning Permission is granted. The Code aims to protect the environment by providing guidance on the construction of high performance homes built with sustainability in mind.

In normal circumstances an Architectural Practice will design a house before the completed drawings are sent away to a third party to undertake the Code Assessment. If the house fails to meet itís target code rating, the design will need to be altered and reassessed, which could cost additional time and money to clients.

However at hpa, our ‘in house’ accredited assessment team can regularly monitor and alter our designs as they develop. This allows us to design buildings with confidence that they can reach a target code level. This one stop approach will undoubtedly bring benefits to our clients in terms of time, cost and continuity.
We can offer:
  • Accredited Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors

  • A tailored package for your assessment, ranging from the full design review and guidance, to simply completing the assessment

  • Pre-assessment checklist

  • Issue of an interim Code Report
    during the assessment process

  • Issue of a Final Code Assessment Certificate.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss any element of this service in more detail, or if you would like us to provide a quotation for your project.
